Nearly 10 years ago, SpeedyNet Internet Services opened its doors to provide Internet access, web site and email hosting. Along with these critical business services, and under the DBA of Internet Know How (IKH), the sharp and dedicated people within the company focused on creating robust web enabled applications. These web systems involved a wide variety of topics include; The Insurance Industry, Project Management Software for Graphic Design Firms, SEC Compliant Communication System with Commission Reporting for Securities Brokerage Firms, EDI Software, and an eCommerce Platform.
As the company grew and became more successful, the stark realization of the resources necessary to manage such a diverse range of projects became increasingly apparent. Discussions soon took place regarding the path the company and its people should follow; what would provide them with the means to the most rewarding future. The one system that had the greatest potential for success when weighed against all other factors was the eCommerce Suite, originally called IKH Cart.
This realization also brought with it the understanding that an Enterprise level system would need to do more for any customer willing to utilize. The system needed to either provide all of the functions necessary to fulfill an order that was placed on the web or, at a minimum, integrate with another system to meet this objective. It did not take long before IKH realized one cold, hard, fact — no current fulfillment systems on the market allowed for the level of integration believed possible.
In the process of researching partner applications to integrate with, Scott Karlo established a mutually rewarding friendship with Joseph Pindel and Robert Palyo, two programmers and consultants each with 15 years experience in the Fulfillment Software Industry. The three individuals simply "clicked." They shared a common thought process that gave way to the beginnings of what we now call Comprehensive Commerce Suite or simply, CCS. CCS can be summed up with a very simple phrase that speaks volumes of its capabilities, "Truly Integrated Commerce."
Abison, LLC was formed on January 1, 2005 and a working relationship was established with SpeedyNet and IKH. The ambitious goal of developing a full featured Fulfillment Software solution that integrated in real time with IKH Cart was underway. At the time, there was little realization of what was about to be built. Along the way, it became apparent that IKH Cart was going to need some fairly hefty revamping. The eCommerce Suite started a new beginning and with that, a new name to match its counterpart, CCS Web.
By the end of the first year of development, four companies learned of Comprehensive Commerce Suite and with some initial demos and lengthy conversations of the goals that lie ahead, they signed on as "Early Adopters." Within just 18 months, the first installation of CCS Fulfillment was complete with the second close behind in August of 2006. The second installation then completed its path towards Truly Integrated Commerce when it went live with CCS Web eCommerce Suite in late December of 2006. While this wrapped up what could only be described as a very arduous yet enjoyable two years of software development, it was actually just the beginning of what was to come.
With the decline of dial-up internet access due to the lower cost of competitive broadband services, it has become self evident that SpeedyNet's future in that arena was not likely to be one of growth. Meanwhile, with the increasing success of CCS Web and its new integrated partner in CCS Fulfillment, the two software systems were on their way to a very bright future. The logical result was a merger between Abison LLC and CompuWeb, Inc. — the parent company of SpeedyNet & IKH.
On January 1, 2007, just two years after the birth of a phenomenol idea, the merger of Abison LLC into CompuWeb, Inc. was complete with the resulting company, Abison, Inc. All services provided by the companies prior to the merger will be carried forward under Abison, Inc. The "new" company's focus will be in four main areas:
- Continued development of Comprehensive Commerce Suite.
- Supporting the existing IKH projects which are also vital to the business.
- Maintain, support and grow the web and email hosting services — Abison will continue the commitment of establishing the best place for your domain to call "home."
- Maintain and support the remaining Internet Access services until they are no longer a viable business option.
The people behind Abison, Inc. are incredibly enthusiastic about this "new" beginning and the ability to share it with friends, families and clients new and old. The creation of Comprehensive Commerce Suite has solidified a very long and prosperous journey that will be mutually rewarding for everyone affiliated with the company. As always, your feedback, comments, concerns and questions (whether positive or negative) are always welcome. Feel free to contact us at anytime. If of course, after learning more about CCS, you feel it would be beneficial to yourself or someone you know, please share that as well.
